The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located 180km west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania. The main feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera. The crater, which formed when a large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself two to three million years ago, is 2,000 feet deep and its floor covers a hundred square miles.

Game drives are led by highly qualified guides and take the form of either a full day game drive starting in the early morning in the crater and on the rim, returning in the late afternoon - all while spotting the huge variety of animals that have made this conservation area so popular. Indulge in a packed breakfast enjoyed in the middle of the bush; or leave after an early breakfast and indulge in a scrumptious packed lunch or a hot crater lunch. Alternatively, enjoy a morning game drive in the crater and after returning to the lodge for lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive on the rim. At days end relax around a blazing fire with a cocktail or two, and reflect upon the days adventurers, before enjoying a scrumptious dinner.
